I paint with acrylics. I paint very detailed floral and fantasy.
I love flowers and I also love to paint Faeries, Dragons, Witches and
American Indian fantasy.
I am part Cherokee and part Chickasaw with a touch of the Irish thrown
in just for good measure.
I have always loved to draw and I cannot remember when I could not draw.
I started to paint
decorative or tole art when I was in my early 20. I have a real love for
the wonderful brush
control and techniques you must have for decorative art and I use it in
my fine art pieces.
I waited until my children were grown before I really began to paint
full time. I waited a long
time to call myself an artist. I have won peoples choice awards in art
shows but the kind of art
I paint really does not set to well with most art judges. So I do not
have a lot of awards to put
in my bio. It is however; award enough that the people like my work. I
sell 8 x 10 and 11 x 14
prints of my artwork I also have greeting cards along with commission
pieces I do for people.
I am right now spending most of my time painting on a series of Faeries,
12 to be exact, for birth
month faeries and later turn them into a calendar. I have had my
paintings in the Gallery at Wilburton
for about 2 years.
